Literature Overview
Babies need books! I
truly believe that reading to our children from birth will help them develop
a love for books and reading that will last a lifetime. It is also
a wonderful time to bond with our babies. Babies who are read to
will, in most cases, develop language skills earlier and have a wider vocabulary.
They may also begin reading on their own at an early age. Regardless,
we can plant seeds of lifelong reading habits.
I have chosen 2 book selections
for each lesson plan. Since each lesson is to cover about 2 weeks
of time, each book can be read daily for 1 week. Babies enjoy the
repetition. You can choose to read the story at bedtime, but any
time of the day can work well. However, I would not recommend reading
to a baby who is hungry. Feel free to choose different book selections
from those I have chosen. Happy reading!
