Gross Motor Skills Activity:  (Monday)

~Take a trip to your local airport and watch the planes.
~Put on music, stretch out your arms for wings, and 'fly' around the room.

Fine Motor Skills Activity:  (Friday)

~Color in an outline of an airplane with a grey crayon.  Then taking small squares of construction paper, glue windows onto your airplane.

~Make a paper airplane.

Shape/Color  (Tuesday)

This week you will teach the color grey.

• Introduce the color by coloring in the parallelogram (previous week's shape) on your learning poster with a grey crayon.
• Put on a grey article of clothing.
• Point out objects around your home of the color grey.
• Add the color to a meal by choosing a grey food, or using a plate, cup, or utensil of the color grey.
• Let your child color in a coloring book or on a printout using a greycrayon.

The letter this week is the letter Z.

• Give your child a printout of the (capital) letter Z to color.  ~Letter Printouts~
• Teach your child to trace the shape of the letter Z using her finger.  You can trace in pudding, finger paint, a shallow tray (cookie sheet) filled with rice or beans, etc.
• Point out the letter Z in signs, cereal boxes, etc.
• Post the letter Z on your learning poster.

The number this week is the number 100.

• Show your child 4 groups of 25 cheerios, or other small objects, and explain that 4 groups of 25 equal the big number of 100.
• Show your child the written symbol (numeral) for 100 and put on your learning poster.
• Add 100 stickers to your counting book.
• Show your matching index cards for the number 100 to your child.
• Draw 100 parallelograms on a piece of paper and count them with your child.
• Walk around your home and try to count 100 objects.

The nursery rhyme this week is Old King Cole.  Recite often!
