Advanced Peek-a-boo

For this game you will play a very simple version of hide-and-seek.  You can call to your toddler from another room, and as she gets close to you jump out and say peek-a-boo.  You can hide behind a chair or door.  Have fun!

Arts and Crafts

Green, Orange & Purple Masterpiece:

Now that your toddler has been introduced to green, orange and purple, you can create with these colors.  Cut out different shapes from green, orange and purple construction paper.  Help your toddler to glue these shapes to a large piece of paper.  When the glue is dry, let your toddler add finishing touches to the masterpiece by coloring with her green, orange and purple crayons.

Outdoor Games

(Depending on the season of the year you can rearrange these suggestions to work for you -- see the outdoor games link above.)

Wagon Rides -- you can take your toddler for a ride in a wagon.  Try to make sure your toddler is securely sitting (not standing) in the wagon.  Do not pull too fast and stay in safe areas.  Sometimes your toddler may find it more fun to pull the wagon himself.  Just put stuffed animals or dolls in the wagon for your toddler to pull.

Musical Exploration

Dance with Scarves -- find some light scarves in a variety of colors if possible.  If not, just one scarf will do.  Put on some dance music and improvise with the scarves.  Show your toddler how the scarves can move through the air.  Wave them back and forth, sway, turn, and so on.

Puppetry

Paper Plate Puppets -- You take two paper plates and staple or tape them together, leaving an opening at the bottom for your hand to fit in.  Draw a face of a person or animal on one side of the paper plate puppet.  You can add construction paper ears, yarn for hair, or possibly a mane for a lion.  Let your toddler help create this one.

You could make a teddy bear paper plate puppet to use when you sing the Teddy Bear Picnic song.
